What personal data we handle when you book a stay, why we handle it, and what rights you have.

Effective from: 1 January 2022 · This is a translation. The Czech version is the binding one and prevails in the event of any discrepancy.

Data controller

The data controller is Ing. Ivan Řezáč, registered at Dlouhé Pole, 256 01 Benešov, Czech Republic, company ID 86986562.

For anything concerning your personal data, contact us at chataroklinka@gmail.com or +420 736 147 422.

What we collect

A booking asks only for what is needed to fulfil it:

  • first name and surname
  • e-mail address
  • phone number
  • your dates and their price

We neither process nor have access to card details — payment is handled entirely by Stripe.

Why we hold it

We process this data to enter into and perform the accommodation contract: to confirm the booking, prepare the stay, and handle any cancellation and refund. The legal basis is performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Records of payments are kept longer to meet legal obligations, principally accounting and tax, under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

We do not use your details to send marketing.

Who we share it with

Only with the processors without whom a booking cannot be handled:

  • Stripe — taking payment and issuing refunds
  • Resend — sending the confirmation and cancellation e-mails
  • Netlify — website and server hosting
  • the database hosting provider running the MongoDB database that holds booking records

Some of these may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

We never sell your data or pass it on for marketing.

How long we keep it

Booking details are kept for the duration of the stay and then for three years, the period during which contractual claims can be brought. Accounting records are kept for five years under the Czech Accounting Act; where the operator is VAT registered, tax documents are kept for ten years under the VAT Act. After those periods the data is deleted.

Your rights

In relation to your data you have the right:

  • to access what we hold about you
  • to have inaccurate data corrected
  • to erasure, once the reason for holding it has passed
  • to restrict processing
  • to data portability
  • to object to processing

Exercise any of these by writing to chataroklinka@gmail.com. We will respond without undue delay and within one month at the latest.

You may also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.gov.cz.

Cookies

This site uses only the technical cookies it needs to work. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we do not follow you across other websites.

Specifically, we store:

  • NEXT_LOCALE — remembers which language you chose. It is only created once you switch language yourself, and lasts a year.
  • cookie-notice — records that you have seen this notice so it stops reappearing. It is stored in your browser, not on our server.

Because these are strictly necessary to provide the service, they do not require your consent under Czech electronic communications law. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

During payment, Stripe may set its own cookies on its own pages as part of securing the transaction; those are governed by Stripe's policy.
